Scope note
An impression made in a document by a seal affixed to a letter stored immediately next to that document. The transfer may be the result of original transmission (e.g. one sealed letter enclosed within another), or historical filing (e.g. two letters bound next to each other in a letter book, or tightly packed in a box).
